New season, new children's activities at St James Cavalier |
The exhibition displays a piece of work from each child who was part of this project.
Children and their parents will soon be in for another treat with the launch of the new Young Cavalier's Summer Club. The animation team at St James is again making sure that there will be innovative ideas for the children to work on; these include painting, paper crafts, clay and more. The aim of these sessions is always one of seeking to allow children to explore and enjoy their innate creativity and to encourage and develop this in as many ways as possible.
Summer sessions will be starting on Wednesday 13 July 2005 and ending on Friday 16 September 2005. The ages range between four and 11. Children should be accompanied to the centre at 10am and picked up at 1pm. Participants should come in comfortable, easy-to-wash clothes and bring a packed lunch.
Another summer programme created by St James is ART STAR. This is a club especially created for young people between the ages of 13 and 15 where a qualified tutor will introduce students to the fundamentals of drawing and painting.
There will be no more than 15 students in a class, so everybody will get individual attention. Participants will learn drawing, watercolour, painting on canvas with acrylics, mixed media and much more. There will be a non-competitive environment and previous experience is not necessary.
Classes will be held on Mondays and Thursdays; with class 'A' between 9am and 10.30am and class 'B' between 11am and 12.30pm.The programme will commence on 4 July and end on 22 September. Finally an exhibition, with the students' works, will be held at the centre.
Places are limited for both clubs and applications will be accepted on a first come first served basis. To ensure registration it is recommended that application form and payment should reach St James by not later than Friday 1 July. One can collect a registration form from the St James Cavalier reception or else download it from the St James Cavalier website www.sjcav.org.
